LG launches two more LCD projection screens into Mid East

LG Electronics has launched two new LCD projection TVs into the Middle East and says the regional home-cinema market is set to take off.

The 52-inch and 60-inch LCD screens both benefit from LG's slim screen design and feature picture-in-picture, PC-In and are high-definition TV ready.

'The digital home-theatre market has been steadily growing for a number of years but LG believes that 2004 will be a year of widespread adoption,' said Mr. S. S. Lee, Digital Display Product Manager, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

LGE envisages the growth in new technology and a wider choice of screens will add to regional demand.

'The availability of a wider range of large screen technology has generated lower pricing fuelling demand,' said Lee.

Both the new LG screens benefit from high brightness screens that are three times brighter than standard projection TVs.

'Projection TVs are normally quite bulky but LG LCD projection TVs have a slim design that takes up even less room than a standard TV,' said Lee. 'A standard 34-inch TV has a depth of 54-inches however the 52-inch LG LCD screen is only 39-inches deep so it takes up less space.'

The new LG LCD projection screens are suitable for video, graphics and high-definition digital TV signals making it a true all-rounder in the large screen television stakes.

'The combination of sharp, high definition images, long life and a slim, attractive design will change the public's perception of what a television should be,' said Lee. 'And, as the leader in television sales in the Middle East and Africa, LG Electronics will continue to develop and market TV screen technology that raises the standard and performs above expectations.'
