Company premiers four premium handsets in first half
LG Electronics (LG), a major player in the global flat panel display and audio-video devices market, today announced that its DV4S2H DVD player hit a Grand Slam in design by winning three international awards: iF Design Award 2009, Red dot Design Award and International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), as well as a 2009 Good Design Award in Korea. The beautiful DV4S2H demonstrates LG's leadership in premium design and advanced technology not only in its home country, but also around the globe.
"Winning one international design award is special but we never expected to receive this many accolades in the same year," said Mr Ki Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Company. "Worldwide recognition is such an amazing compliment. With the DV4S2H setting the bar high, I think we have clearly demonstrated our commitment to bringing together great technology and beautiful design in LG's Home Entertainment division."
From the very beginning, LG made a concerted effort to combine the very best in style with the ultimate in technology, and the resulting DV4S2H has established a new benchmark for DVD players.

"The DV4S2H represents unparalleled beauty, blending in naturally with any environment. It is without a doubt the perfect example of what we mean by stylish design and smart technology."
The sophistication and thought that went into the design are reflected in every part of LG's newest DVD player. Unlike many DVD players where the disc tray slides out from the front, the DV4S2H's disc door was placed on top of the unit for greatest convenience to users. Below the door is a row of touch-sensitive buttons which preserve the clean, sleek look of the player without being a distraction. The delicate glow of the display panel is mesmerizing and seems to almost greet users with a warm hello.
The DV4S2H has three distinct and unconventional display positions: Striking, Elevated and Relaxed. It can be mounted flush on a wall with a special bracket, creating a "striking" appearance similar to the look of a flatscreen TV. Unlike most DVD players, the DV4S2H rises slightly from its base, giving it a unique "elevated" look when sitting on a flat surface. Lastly, a round, retractable foot swivels out from the base of the player to create a tabletop stand for a "relaxed" look. All of these positioning options give the DV4S2H the illusion that it is floating on a cushion of air.
While the DV4S2H might seem simple and minimal on the outside, it is a much different story on the inside. Designed with multimedia fans in mind, the DV4S2H is ideal for playing DivX HD video, all types of CDs and DVDs, as well as MP3, WMA and JPEG files. The DV4S2H also accepts external USB storage devices, giving users access to their entire collections of music, video or photo files. Standard DVDs upconverted to 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions offer the Full HD experience with a more natural and clearer picture, to create a truly versatile home theater.
