LG Eddy Dishwasher: Latest Edition to Healthy Living Collection Raises Efficiency for UAE Households
LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, today unveils the latest addition to its 'Healthy Living' collection, the Eddy Dishwasher. Specifically designed to address the needs of today's Middle East households and provide optimum hygiene in the home environment, the Eddy Dishwasher delivers energy-saving and performance-enhancing technology whilst not compromising on aesthetic appeal.
This balance of design with health and energy-efficient functionality results from LG's work with leading research company Synovate, to research and understand consumer habits and health concerns across the Middle East and Africa. With the latest results revealing that 75 per cent of UAE residents believe that new home appliances can have a positive impact on their health, this study forms the basis for ongoing product development, enabling LG to address real concerns through its product lines.
"Environmental and energy efficiency in the home has created a whole new paradigm for home appliance technology," said Mr H. S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE. "Through extensive customer research, we have learned that people want high performance appliances that positively impact their lives whilst working in perfect harmony with their homes. The Eddy Dishwasher combines the latest technology with intelligent energy use, optimised health and hygiene, and modern design."
Maximum Performance, Optimum Hygiene LG's Eddy Dishwasher offers substantial water savings compared to traditional dishwashers. Its Vario Washing System alternates water between the top and bottom basket with only one spray working at any one time. The more powerful spray provides an enhanced wash performance whilst decreasing water consumption by up to 14 litres. The average rinse cycle of a conventional dishwasher is approximately 70?C, but for the LG Eddy, water temperature reaches up to 78?C, killing harmful bacteria that conventional dishwashers might leave behind such as salmonella.
The LG Eddy dishwasher also boasts the Hybrid Drying System; an integrated turbine and external condenser that improves air flow, removing the moist atmosphere and decreasing drying time by 10 per cent. The UV lamp, which is located on the right side of the tub and operates after drying when the UV option is selected, prevents growth of bacteria by emitting an ultraviolet light which damages their DNA to stop reproduction.
Lower Environmental Impact Beyond being better for the purse strings, LG's Eddy Dishwasher is also better for the environment. The eddy dishwater includes a flow meter component which checks the water quantity by measuring the rotation speed of the propeller. This feature allows for an efficient wash by determining the optimum amount of water required to clean the dishes and ensuring that water and energy consumption are kept to a minimum.
The LG Eddy dishwasher also includes a half load option which allows the user to let the machine know that they are only washing half a load. Lastly, the stand by power zero function is a cutting circuit which isolates the pad motor of the electric outline when the device is not in use.
Convenience The LG Eddy dishwasher has a direct drive system which integrates a slim and quiet motor below the water container. The benefits of the direct drive system include: increased water capacity, quiet operation and increased tub size (which means it can fit bigger dishes). A dual washing system has also been incorporated to provide independent spray intensity for upper and lower racks. This convenient feature means that users no longer have to run two separate wash cycles for dedicate or lightly soiled and heavily soiled dishes.
The auto wash feature includes a soil sensor which detects how dirty the dishes are. Using this information the program automatically adjusts the washing time, temperature, and the number of rinses.
